Available in three sizes and a range of colors, the indoor-outdoor Vignelli Bench is equally at home next to a pool, in an entryway or hotel lobby, on a tennis or pickleball court, or at a dining table.

When designers Lella and Massimo Vignelli couldn’t find multi-purpose indoor-outdoor furniture for their home in Italy, they decided to create their own. Known for their ability to bring clarity and timelessness to everything they created, their durable, functional, and modern Vignelli Bench is a sculptural addition to any setting. Suitable for residential, hospitality, and office environments – indoors and out – this bench is a low maintenance, colorful, long-lasting piece that’s made in USA.

This hollow bench weighs 40–53 pounds, but if you’d like to add sand for even more wind resistance, there is a hole with removable plug on the underside. We recommend using dry play sand that can be purchased at most hardware or landscape material stores.

This item ships directly from Heller and may be subject to a lead time depending on availability.

about the designer

Lella and Massimo Vignelli were pivotal figures in the design world, renowned for their clarity and coherence in numerous projects. Massimo started his design journey as a draftsman in Milan, influenced by Adolf Loos’ belief that an architect should design everything from a spoon to a city. Both Lella, born into an architectural family in Udine, and Massimo shared a comprehensive design philosophy, encapsulated in their book "Design is One," emphasizing consistency and timelessness. After their training, they moved to the US, co-founding Unimark International and later starting Vignelli Associates. Their impressive portfolio includes corporate identities for American Airlines and the New York City Transit Authority, as well as graphic design, interiors, furniture, and exhibitions for prestigious institutions. Their legacy is celebrated in museums worldwide, and they were honored with numerous awards, including the National Design Lifetime Achievement award in 2003
