Hako is the new Japan based bag designer on the block. We discovered them when searching for a backpack that had clean lines and was sustainably and ethically made. Hako takes great pride in the Randoseru philosophy, where the robust quality of great materials and workmanship allow Japanese students to carry their bags throughout the entire 6 years of their grade school. The majority of their materials are made with the finest cruelty-free microfibre vegan leather, along with polyester that is made from recycled plastic bottles. Martine Bedin is an industrial designer, artist, architect and teacher. She studied Architecture at the École d’architecture in Paris. In 1978 she received a scholarship that took her to Florence, where she met the members of the Radical Architecture movement: the founders of Alchimia, Superstudio and Archizoom Associati. The founder of Superstudio, Adolfo Natalini, invited her to exhibit ‘The Decorated House’ at the Milan Triennale in 1979, where she met Michele De Lucchi and Ettore Sottsass.
